Terms of use

1. Who we are

wokauthority.com (the “Site”) is operated by Wok Authority (by Karunwala), an Indo-Chinese cloud kitchen in Villivakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Customer care: 63851 10369 (3 PM – 3 AM, every day), karunaditya@wokauthority.com.

2. What the Site is for

The Site shows our menu, prices, hours and contact details. It does not take payments. You can order in two ways:

• Delivery through Zomato. The “Order on Zomato” links take you to Zomato. Orders placed there are contracts between you, Zomato and us under Zomato’s terms; Zomato handles payment, delivery and its own cancellation and refund process.
• Takeaway at the counter. Call ahead or walk in during opening hours. You pay at the counter when you collect.

3. Menu, prices and availability

Prices on the Site are counter prices in Indian Rupees, inclusive of GST at the applicable rate. Every price ends in 9 and is divisible by 3 — if you ever see one that isn’t, it is a typo and the counter price applies. Prices on Zomato are set on Zomato and may differ. Photographs show real dishes from our kitchen; where a photo is marked “representative” it shows the closest dish we have photographed and not that exact item. Items may sell out; we will tell you before you pay.

4. Food safety and allergens

Our kitchen handles gluten (soy sauce, noodles), soy, egg, milk and nuts, and cooks vegetarian and non-vegetarian food on shared equipment. We cannot guarantee that any dish is free of trace allergens. Veg, egg and chicken items are marked on every menu card. If you have an allergy, tell us when you order. Consume food soon after collection or delivery.

5. Cancellations and refunds

See our Cancellation & refund policy, which forms part of these terms. We never charge a cancellation fee beyond costs we have actually incurred (Rule 4(8), Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020).

6. Using the Site

Please don’t scrape, copy or misuse the Site, or attempt to interfere with it. All text, photographs, the Wok Authority name, badge and the “Own your hunger” line belong to us; you may share links freely but may not reuse our content commercially without permission.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Subject to that, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

8. Grievances

Write to karunaditya@wokauthority.com or call 63851 10369. We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days, and in every case within one month. If you are not satisfied you may contact the National Consumer Helpline (1915, consumerhelpline.gov.in) or file at edaakhil.nic.in.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts and consumer commissions at Chennai, Tamil Nadu have jurisdiction, without prejudice to your right to approach any consumer commission that has jurisdiction over you.
